Cheapest way to Don Muang Airport

Three months of training as Guest Service Assistant in Bangkok's hotel, I've seen many travelers looking for the cheapest way to DMK airport. My hotel is located in the downtown and the meter taxi to DMK airport costs about 400 THB. Many of them complained expensive.

There's actually an alternative way which cost less than 100 THB per person.

Well, Enric and I tried to save money even though we have 2 big luggages of 32" height, or more. Imagine, dragging these huge luggages for about 15 minutes to the nearest Skytrain to get to Mo Chit (if you're taking MRT, stop at Chatuchak). This takes about 45 minutes to arrive. This cost me only 22 THB as I hold a Rabbit card (price vary depending on which station you took from). Go to the bus station and walk further ahead for the DMK shuttle bus. The bus came every half an hour. Look for the bus number "A1" and hops in. It cost roughly about 30 THB if I'm not mistaken. The journey to the airport tooks roughly 15 - 30 minutes depending on the traffic. The bus stops directly in front of the departure gate. No worries! BUT remember, this is very time consuming and you should depart from your hotel earlier.

There's also more alternative ways:
1. Take BTS Skytrain to Victory Monument, then take the bus "A2"
2. Take MRT to Chatuchak, then take the bus "A1" (as mentioned above)

For Suvarnabhumi Airport (international flight), you can only take MRT to Petchaburi and walk to Airport Link, from Makkasan to Suvarnabhumi Airport.

If you want less hassle, just pay the taxi.

Cheers!

Problem again...

Both of me and Enric keeps on having problem staying in Bangkok. It was a disappointment. Maybe not for him but for me, YES. Maybe it's my first time living independently with own apartment with all those responsibilities to carry.

During the first month, we have trouble with True internet with the owner suddenly cut off our tv channels, we lost our main entertainment.

Firstly, the internet were recommended by everyone. "true internet is good" bla bla bla. Bullshit. Not good when you stay in BangNa area. It was a total disappointment. We can't even have proper Skype and checking email, as well as Facebook.

Later on, the tv channels which we have been watching for 2 weeks suddenly is not working. Why? Owner cut it off. Thank you. Next, we received electricity bill which half of it we did not consume as the bill came every mid of month. And we only move in on the 6th. So, we don't wanna pay it for free. The previous month before we move in, the owner didn't pay, hence we kena penalty. We try to sort out with agent and owner, story story explain explain. I think the owner is thinking that we are trying to cheat is 100 baht++. Nonsense. They wanna see the bill so we give. They keep it, they only pay the December bill and did not inform us that they didn't pay for January, we kena penalty again this month. What a fucking nice owner. Sorry to say so but you caused us to get penalty when we don't even wanna have it at all. So now, they ask us to pay all then only they will settle it when we move out. I can't wait to stop the contract with this owner although this apartment is nice.

This month, once True 3G expired, Enric recommended AIS because his colleague said so. Again, but I think we should continue use DTAC which our phone is currently using it. The line is fast but however, Enric wanna try AIS. So go lor....

We checked on the internet, we go to AIS store in Terminal 21, the staff show me this. We thought that the 3G 599 baht is a good deal (table on the top) because free 30 HD movie and free e-books. After two weeks trying to use it to watch movie from megashare.com, it has failed us. Loaded 15minutes, gone. No more loading and 2GB habis.

Then we remembered we have free movie if we download the apps of the movie store by AIS since we have free 30 HD movie. Tried yesterday, failed again. Unavailable apps. We went to the store to check, they say this deal have been expired on 31 January. 2 weeks ago, we were showed this deal which is somewhere on Valentine's week. What do you mean it ended? I feel like cheated. Because of the package, we bought it as well because in the internet didn't mention about expiring deal and your staff is showing me this deal without saying expiry date!

They took long time to solve our problem regarding this deal, around 30 minutes, they came out with a solution. Satisfied enough, I don't have to pay following month internet. So I can use for free. Luckily is my last month if I am not offered any job here. Thank you so much as I'm not expecting you to do that for us. Thumbs up!! Thank you for understanding this problem. Unlike the BTS. None of them solve your problem at all, not reply your email, doesn't care if you're unsatisfied. Their customer service sucks to the max. Yes, it's true. Use MRT better. They do offer cards. Stay somewhere near to MRT instead of BTS. Useless service ever.

Dear BTS,

Yes, I am a fucking unsatisfied customer after using your service. I will never recommend people to use your service as your staff is freaking impolite, low standard, unskilled, unprofessional, NEGATIVE!

Sincerely
ME!

Happy weekend!

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!! I'm going to Platinum Mall again tomorrow with Enric. I'm super excited to do shopping again. Muahahahaha! Best and cheap place to shop!

I am suppose to update my blog last week but I've forgotten to do so because I'm busy playing Batman during the whole day. Yes, I'm a geek. Problem? I did nothing much last week tho. Just a grocery and a complain stuff, about BTS. How stupid I am for not aware that the card for student has a limitation for age. Above 23 is not allowed to use. What the fuck? Now all my trips and balance are not refundable and all they say is my fault. But they are the one who issue the cards, k? I'm foreigner and unaware of your t&c hence, you people should advised. However, you are stupid.

Anyway, this rose was given by Enric. It was suppose to be a surprise but I saw it before he is able to do it. His bag is opened. How clumsy can he be and he said that I spoilt the surprise. Wow.... However, thanks for the rose and je t'aime!

Finally, I got my working permit and personal bank. Forced to open due to salary, forced to buy ATM card because it is not free when you open a bank account, forced to get this hello kitty with additional payment of 100 baht because normal card which is 450 baht is out of stock. Where got such case one? However, I love this card. I'm hello kitty fans k?

Now Enric and I was thinking about getting new tattoo since it is cheap here. We would like to have dream catcher tattoo between our underarm and waist. He always unsatisfied with his first tattoo. Unsure of the design, insist to have initial crafted into tribal form. He keep on complaining. Zzzzz....

Besides dream catcher, I'm really into infinity logo. Found this cool one in google.
Beautiful, isn't? I would like to have it on my thigh or on the back of my ear. I don't know. Not sure yet. Any idea?

Shopping day in Platinum

Well, my friend came to Bangkok last Wednesday and I sort of ask them to help me to bring me my blanket and some noodles from Malaysia. I miss Malaysia's food. Although it is just an instant noodle, but at least I ate it in Malaysia.

However, during meet up, we went shopping together in Platinum. Awesome to the max. Freaking cheap with good material! Let's see what I've invest on myself.

First, a shirt, it's grey but due to my room lighting, it looks like black. It's a little bit see throughable. Price? 250 baht per piece, I get it for 200 baht because me and my friend combining the purchase, we get it cheaper.

Second, a bikini. Also 250 baht and buy two price for only 400 baht. But I only bought one because unsure if it's suitable for me. Apparently, YES. Should have bought two. Will bring mama Szymborski to this mall soon!

A dress, the final piece. It's in turquoise color. Also 250 baht. I almost bought a different color with different outlook but with the same pattern. It's in green but I found this more better. Enric dislikes it. So sad....

Finally, this one is totally not from Platinum. It's from H&M that I bought in Terminal 21 for my man as Valentine's gift. I actually bought another type but it doesn't suits him well due to cutting so we went back and change it to this. The rest of the payment, he bayar lor. The previous shirt cost me 999 baht ok. I already halfway bankrupt liao. However, he said that he will top up if it's more expensive. This one costs 1299 baht. Top up 300 baht jek... :)

What he bought for me? Two earrings and a new iPad case! :D sorry no photo. Blerk!

Japanese Food Feast

I have been craving for a real sushi, a real Japanese cuisine ever since I came to Bangkok. I even Google, searching for Sushi Zanmai or Sakae Suhsi here, and asked my colleague about Japanese restaurant serving cheap and authentic real fresh sushi. They only know 5 stars dining and supermarket. So sad.... :(

Till Thursday, the concierge, P'Kai received incentive from tour agency for recommendation so he decided to "donate" 1,000 baht for us, the GSA. We are so happy and all of us are craving for sushi as well so we opened a delivery catalog food and start pointing and calculation. Voila!

Salmon with Ebikko... Ebikko is every where. OMG, I'm hungry again even I just had my lunch.

These yummy sushi is making me drooling. I wanna eat! Regretted to blog bout this but I have to!

Well, these 'mouth-watering' Japanese food was ordered from Yayoi Restaurant. It's fresh and worth the price paid! Delicious to eat, savory enough to fill your stomach. YUMMY!

All these were munched by 3 GSA. We can't finished it so we kept 2 bentos for the next shift to enjoy it! Ok la, sounds bad for saving those which cannot be finished but better than nothing right? It's free leh!

Anyway, anyone traveling to Bangkok and hunger for sushi, I recommend Yayoi! Even tho I have only tried this. And also, if you think other Japanese restaurant in Bnagkok is better than Yayoi, pleas leave me a comment so I can savour it as well! Merci!

Bangkok is not as danger as a war field

Many people has been frightened by the news regarding Bangkok is in a big mess. Everyday, the news shown in TV news, newspaper or any other sources of media are showing how brutal the demonstration are, how people fights each other, number of people dead or injured and so forth.

People, calm down. Nothing serious will be happen if you're staying in the city centre. I'm working in city centre and staying out from city centre, yet I'm still in one piece. Of course, my area was trespassed by a quite big number of ambulances and police cars. I don't know what happen but as long as I stay at home and mind my own business.

If you're traveling within the period of demonstration, don't be afraid. Just avoid the red or yellow color shirt, stay away from the crowd, do your own shopping and hunting, I can guarantee 80% you're safe. If not, you're the remaining of 20% unlucky lah.

I'm serious, there's no harm at all. Ok? Just don't join the demonstration and critics them. Like I've just mentioned, MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS if you still wanna go back to your home country in one piece. You've see my previous post, I went there and there's not a riot or mob is going on. Is just a demonstration or protest. It's not Muay Thai Kickboxing match or Jackie Chan's action is going on. It's like a concert. Don't believe me? Scroll down.

It looks like concert and they're busy listening to the speakers. You no harm them, they no harm you. It's just that simple. Alright?

Bon voyages!

Pay Day & Day Tour to Lumpini Park and MBK

Hello! So, I got my pay. It was suppose to be 9,000 baht per month but I started on the 6th and they close the month on the 20th or the 22nd, I can't remember.
It's exactly I can't survive with this amount of pay per month. I have to withdraw additional 500 baht from personal money to pay my rental. =(
Anyway, it's Chinese New Year tho. Must wear yellow. "Ong lai, ong lai". Hopefully my career will be even more successful than I've ever thought of!

Enric decided to visit the Lumpini Park which is the highest park of Bangkok. Apparently, we are so disappointed. There's a demonstration and market going on at the same time when we arrived. This Is just right below the BTS.

Nice? Yes and no. No because in front of it, hundreds of tent. You can see some of it on the bottom of the photo.

More tents when we go further in.
And we decided to stop to have a seat.
Look at the tree, it's not even giving a shade at all.
Found this cute stuff alone by the side.

Okay, it's too hot and we decided to go into the nearby mall. The Silom Complex.
Instead of shopping, we eat!
I didn't look at the main dishes menu but only the dessert menu.
Ice cream!!
He is drooling, can't wait for his Chocolate Lave and looking at temptatious menu.
Voila, arrivé! He took a bite before I take a photo of it. Can't wait to enjoy it.
My Mango Passion. I expect it to be sweet but it's sour. Anyway, thumbs up for their dessert. It's really yummy-licious!

Second trip, MBK Mall. We took free t-shirt and tourist discount card but we buy nothing.
It was a sad thing that the mall is so messy, the directory map is a total bullshit (sorry to said so but the list is sucks). I ended up see nothing special bout it. I'll try again next time. Hope I see something good.

So we left and go look for Big C in On Nut, we think it's cheaper because we visited Big C in MegaBangna.

I FOUND SAUCISSON FROM FRANCE! It's a miracle! They have a lot of imported food product from Europe. HEAVEN!
But expensive. So we bought dinner ingredients and left. My weekend chef wanted to have Croque Monsieur for dinner so he cook lor.

I found cockles! 60 baht for half kilograms!
The sauce is superb! But too spicy and I still wanted to dip with it.
Freaking huge cockles.
My comment, it's better to boil it with leek. More delicious.

After dinner, geek time. BATMAN.
Yes, I'm a geek. So what? Problem?

Axis & Spin Ladies Night

Bought this dress on a very last minute because out of no where, Enric invited me to his hotel for some occasion. Apparently, I have no proper attire at all. Everyone said Bangkok's apparel is cheap but for this, no. I bought it in Terminal 21 Mall which probably costs more due to rental fees. But this dress has a pretty good material and comfortable to wear. I paid 700 baht after negotiating.
I really like this dress so it fine. By the way, H&M having great sales now. It is as low as 200 baht. There's a bag which I really, really liked so much but Enric said no. It's only 600 baht. Anyway, I'll still have plenty of time to shop.

These mirrors are located in the Continent Hotel Bangkok. Look at Enric. Such an epic face! Hahaha!!!!

Too dark to take photo, you need flash to capture some photo. I'm using iPad, so no flash. Oh, the name of the bar, Axis & Spin. They're having ladies night every Tuesday night. Ladies enter after 9 and before 11, free 2 shots of drinks. I didn't ask what was it, but the red one is really nice. According to Enric, the blue is is Curacao. I don't know how to spell it and I'm lazy to google it. Hahaha.....

These are the free shots. If you're in Thailand now, join them at the 38th and 39th floor. Located at main center of Sukhumvit.

How to go? Stop at Sukhumvit station if you're taking MRT. Or stop at Asoke station if you're taking BTS. It is next to the Terminal 21 Mall.

MegaBangna

So, last Sunday is my OFF DAY. Actually is every Sunday is my off day. On the alternate week, it's Saturday and Sunday. I guess I'm a happy kid? Not really. Having off day in the weekend it's not really that nice as we missed out a lot of good promo, for example great deal promo for meal. Usually people provide this deal during off peak. That's why if you have off day during weekday, don't be sad. You can be benefited with many good weekday promo!!

Anyway, back to my story... I went to MegaBangna just to have a look. It's a huge mall with the joint of Big C (supermarket) and IKEA. How cold was that? Remind me of The Curve and Midvalley in Malaysia. Right now they're having great sales everywhere.

The very first apparel shop I went in. Super huge and many sales. I forgot the name. AIO something? Nvm, it's nearby the main entrance.

Can you guess what's this? No? I give you a hint. Young girls like to shop in here.

FOREVER 21. Don't ask me why. I was thinking for a few second why this shop look familiar but the name is a little bit different till I realized. LOL

REDBULLS. Only 10 baht. WTF? But not that sweet compare to Malaysia. You can actually find many product lower price in Big C. Now Enric is asking where is the Big C near to our home. Have to google map it later.

It's actually quite easy to get to this mall. It provides free shuttle from selected BTS. We are lucky enought to stay in Udomsuk, hence we can take free shuttle here at BTS Udomsuk. :D

Damn lucky right? It tooks about 10-20 minutes to arrive, depends on the traffic situation. Anyway, I might bring my friends here. Many great sales is happening right now!!

Is it haze or is it mists?

Last Saturday night, it was quite cold. Not only Saturday but the whole week. I have to wear my pajamas which is a sleeved knee length dress long hippy pants, covered with socks as well as jacket to keep myself warm. I'm like living in somewhere freaking cold but no, I'm in Bangkok.

The next morning, I was so surprised to see this....

Because normally I woke up at 6, I see nothing and when it's 6.30am, I don't look out the window. enric doesn't like bright when he's sleeping.

But this happen at 8am... Can you imagine that? It's like Genting Highland, Malaysia. Lol!

Today was just fine. The weather is not that cold anymore but somehow I'm like paranoid. It's not that cold but I felt it damn cold. I think I'm sick. I hope the weather at night is breezy so I can have a good sleep. I can't sleep in a hot night. It's killing me. Right now it's just moderate but I think it's a little bit warm and humid. I might not wearing jacket tonight.

I hope tomorrow morning will not be that cold! :D
*finger crossed*

Love that Red

So.... I've been transferred into Front Office now and I am required to put on lipstick. They said that this will makes me look more presentable as receptionist.

As many people know, I don't put lipstick except for some occasion. But I have been thinking to buy a red lipstick since last November until now, I must buy.

My colleague, who is a fan of Revlon (she have a lot of Revlon lipstick), recommended me to buy Revlon. She said that the color will not fade and it's having promotion at the price of 138 baht. Freaking cheap. I was so surprised. I quickly went to Terminal 21 mall two days ago and so coincidentally Enric will be later than 6 to meet up with me at the Asoke station. More time to shop!

I went into Watsons, searching for the best red and I found this!
It's only 178 baht. I didn't buy the 138 baht as the color is not bright and shine enough for me. I went to try it on the second day of work.
Sorry, am still in my pajamas. LOL

I don't know why it looks a little bit dark red but it's red, k?

I'm very surprise that the color really doesn't fade away!! It stayed! I only applied once, and it stayed up to 6 hours, if you're not eating of course. I have to eat in the between of 9 hours.

Tip to remove lipstick (any brand I guess, it works on Revlon): I used Vaseline to remove my lipstick. It tooks me to wipe my lips 2 times, with the repeating steps (apply and wipe). It depends on the moisture of your lipstick. I applied lip balm before lipstick because my lips are lack of moisture. I can't survive without lip balm. I think using Vaseline to remove lipstick is easy and safe as it is 100% pure petroleum jelly and zero harm to health. Once you wiped away the lipstick, you don't feel dry on your lips and you dosn't need to rub. It may hurt your lips cell.

Any way, this color is too awesome! I liked it so much and now I'm decided to buy another color when I got my first salary in Bangkok.

Right now in Watsons, they are having a great sales. If you're in Bangkok now, check it out! I believe you don't wanna miss out any great offers while shopping, right?? Despite allowing customer to choose the vouchers which portrayed outside Watsons, they're having "Buy 1, Free 1" promo too! Feel free to check out their website here for the direct link to Revlon to view available product!!(English is available on the top right)
